Visual simulating dichromatic vision in CIE space

چکیده

Dichromatic vision is due to the loss of one of the three cone pigments: the L type in protanopes, the M type in deuteranopes, and the S type in tritanopes. In this paper, we show that the dichromatic vision can be simulated by applying transformation to image in CIE x, y chromaticity space. We base our work on the past experiments on unilateral color blind (color blind in one eye) people which show that for protanopes and deuteranopes the hue of 470 nm and 575 nm stimuli stay the same as that for normal eyes, and for tritanopes the hue of 485 nm and 660 nm are the same as that for normal eyes. We also assume that the curve between these anchored stimuli points and D6500 standard white stimuli in the chromaticity diagram is quadratic. Our method saves the steps for transformation of CIE chromaticity value to uniform chromaticity value or LMS value as required in the previous work and still gets reasonable results.

A Study on Spectral Response for Dichromatic Vision

The paper proposes a novel approach to analyze the dichromatic color vision defects from a point of spectral responses based on the projection theory of spectral space to/from 2-D dichromatic Human Visual Sub-Space. The visible spectra to the dichromats (protanopes, deutanopes, and tritanopes) are extracted from an n-dimensional spectral input with the 2-D version of Matrix-R notated as Rdichro...

Color vision sensitivity in normally dichromatic species and humans.

Spectral-sensitivity functions for large, long-duration increments presented on a photopic white background indicate that wavelength-opponent mechanisms mediate detection in both normal and dichromatic humans. Normal humans exhibit high color-vision sensitivity as they discriminate the color of spectral flashes at detection-threshold intensities. However, dichromatic humans require stimuli up t...

Early color deprivation and subsequent color vision in a dichromatic monkey.

A squirrel monkey (Saimiri sciureus) was reared for the first 4 months of life in a dim, colorless environment. Following an additional 10 months of normal visual experience, tests of color vision and spectral sensitivity were run on this animal and a control subject. The results suggest that the adult expression of dichromatic color vision does not depend on color experience during the first 4...

Orthogonal Relations and Color Constancy in Dichromatic Colorblindness

This paper employs uniform color space to analyze relations in dichromacy (protanopia, deuteranopia, tritanopia). Fifty percent or less of dichromats represent the classical reduction form of trichromacy, where one of three cones is inoperative but normal trichromatic color mixture such as complementary colors (pairs that mix white) are accepted by the dichromat, whose data can thus be plotted ...

Spectral sensitivities of the human cones.

Transient chromatic adaptation produced by an abrupt change of background color permits an easier and closer approach to cone isolation than does steady-state adaptation. Using this technique, we measured middle-wave-sensitive (M)-cone spectral sensitivities in 11 normals and 2 protanopes and long-wavelength-sensitive (L-) cone spectral sensitivities in 12 normals and 4 deuteranopes. Although t...
